[Q&A]: Using the profile to prepare for the next move

Market Profile Examples, Q&A Sessions, Resources, Tips for Newbies, Video, Webinars

Part of our weekly Q&A series.

We began the discussion with a look at how to use the profile to prepare for the next move.

Then we opened the floor to questions.

Additional questions asked & answered during the session:

  • Crude?
  • Thanks for these webinars guys.   Wondering how do you typically determine where to set your stops?
  • Given a balanced volume profile, and excess levels, are there things in the profile that would suggest the market may breakout, rotating away from the value area?  And, so maybe you would not take trades at the edges of balance?
  • The composite Volume Profile on the far right — How do you duration/number of days to profile there?
  • The expectation this morning in the ES was a correction/old business to the OVN inventory which was 100% long.  We got that and the pullback low was 2656.  What can we look for in the auction to confirm that the pullback low is ending and we should be getting ready for the long?  How to trigger into the trade I guess is the question?
  • The Expected Range is from the Globex open or RTH open?
  • Do you guys look at skew and vvix? Skew is OTM puts and VVIX is a 30 day foward mechancism for volatility as a gauge sentiment for an upcomig bias/gauge in sentiment?
